1. Plan Ahead

We recommend organising your pet’s travel as early as possible. Advance planning allows time to secure your preferred dates and complete any necessary preparations.

This may include:

  • Booking veterinary appointments

  • Obtaining health certificates (if required)

  • Ensuring vaccinations are current

  • Notifying us of any special needs or medical conditions

Early preparation helps reduce last-minute stress for both you and your pet.

2. Visit the Vet

A pre-travel health check is strongly recommended. Your veterinarian can confirm your pet is fit for transport and address any concerns you may have.

During the visit, consider discussing:

  • General health and fitness for travel

  • Vaccination status

  • Any required certificates or documentation

  • Motion sickness or travel anxiety

  • Breed-specific risks (particularly for brachycephalic breeds)

If your pet has an existing medical condition, please inform us prior to transport.

3. Crate Familiarisation

If your pet will be travelling in a crate, introducing it well in advance can significantly reduce anxiety.

Helpful tips:

  • Leave the crate open in a familiar space

  • Encourage voluntary exploration

  • Use bedding, toys, or treats

  • Gradually increase time spent inside

  • Create positive associations

A pet that feels safe in their crate typically travels more comfortably.

4. On The Day

Simple steps can help your pet feel calm and ready for their journey:

  • Ensure your pet is well hydrated

  • Provide exercise prior to pickup

  • Allow time for toileting

  • Keep goodbyes calm and reassuring

For safety reasons, please do not feed your pet within 8 hours of travel, unless otherwise advised by your veterinarian.

For longer journeys, any food, medication, or personal belongings provided should be clearly labelled with the pet’s name and instructions.

If the pet requires medication, please advise us in advance.
